The BSN Language Centre offers children and teenagers the opportunity to learn and develop their English language skills through fun and structured group classes and private lessons.
We welcome children from age five and up into our classes, which take place after school and on Saturday mornings. Many Dutch primary schools do not offer English until group 7 or 8 but we understand that parents and children often want to begin learning English earlier than this or to have extra lessons to supplement what they are learning in school.
Our classes are fun, active, and structured so that children learn through activities as well as through using materials (workbooks and textbooks). All our lessons have a good balance between learning and fun and focus on developing speaking and listening skills as well as reading and writing.
Many learners come to us with very little English – maybe they can say just one or two words and have some understanding of more. We ask these children to join our Starters groups on Thursdays. For children and teenagers whose level is higher than this, we offer a range of classes as shown below.
Our teenage classes are for any student from 13 to 17 years old who has additional needs in English related to schoolwork, plans to study in English at university or high school, or even just for fun! Teen classes run in the early evenings and are focused on writing skills, vocabulary-building and communication skills in English.
Our aim is for children and teenagers to enjoy learning English, to feel more confident with the language and to be more prepared for how they will use English in their future.
