The British School in The Netherlands

The British School in The Netherlands Language Centre

Do you need to improve your English for work or to further your career? Are you hoping to study on a university course delivered in English in the future? Are you new to the Netherlands and need survival Dutch? Is your child preparing to transfer to an International school? Are you a teacher of English in need of support?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, the BSN Language Centre is here for you! We offer a wide range of courses taught by qualified and experienced, native English and Dutch-speaking teachers to help you with your next step.

As well as general and business language courses, our provision includes globally recognised teacher-development programmes created by Cambridge English. The first is the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Speakers of other Languages), an initial qualification for those wishing to teach English to adults or young learners in the private sector. Our facility is one of only three accredited CELTA centres in The Netherlands. We also offer the CELT-P (Certificate in English Language Teaching – Primary) for qualified primary school teachers who want to improve their English teaching and CELT-S for teachers in Secondary Education. Finally, we also offer the Certificate in EMI Skills (English as a Medium of Instruction) which is designed to support those lecturing and teaching on international programmes in higher education institutes; including universities and, in the Netherlands, Hogescholen.

With over thirty years’ experience teaching students from around the world, we are well placed to understand the needs of the expatriate community and local learners. Many of the teaching team have relocated to the Netherlands themselves and have had to support their children in a new environment, getting to grips with Dutch language and culture.

Whatever your learning needs, please browse our website for further information or contact us if you have any questions. Open registration for courses is on Mondays at the Language Centre, we very much hope to hear from you!
